“I’m not a Guru I’m Baxterbear”

The Twakutukuza Trust organised a Baxterbear Teddy Bears Picnic at Kenyatta National Hospital in Kenya for sick children in the Oncology Ward. The Twakutukuza Trust (www.twatrust.org) was founded by a breast cancer survivor named Doris Mayoli. The Trust raises money and provides moral and financial support for Kenyans who cannot afford cancer treatment.

Baxterbear teddy bears for the children, and the children coloured in Baxterbear pictures there was also entertainment for the children with a special Baxterbear afternoon tea (his favourite meal) was indeed a very special day.

From the event, the Trust were able to raise money to clear the hospital bills of some of the children who cannot afford to pay or who have been abandoned, including one child who was “stuck” there and unable to leave due to outstanding bills. We also want to continue to spread awareness of the disease and of Twa Trust, who can provide support. With the launch of the Africa Cancer Foundation, Baxterbear was delighted to be able to help make a difference and return to Kenya where he spent many years.
